
Hide Aoki is a partner in charge of Space & Robotics at Global Brain (GB), a VC firm based in Tokyo. He oversees the investment activities for space, robotics and new technology sectors all over the world. He is also a co-founder and director of SPACETIDE Foundation, Japan’s first industry-wide platform for accelerating NewSpace activities. Hide is also a member of the Japanese government’s committee on National Space Policy.
He joined GB from Dream Incubator (DI) where he was an evangelist for the space business, developed strategies and consulted for the clients. Prior to DI, he developed “Kounotori” (HTV), Japan’s first automated cargo spacecraft, as an aerospace engineer at Mitsubishi Electric and won a number of awards.
He holds a MS in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University and a MBA from Keio Business School.
